Recipe: Crab Cake
A crab cake is an American dish composed of crab meat and various other ingredients, such as bread crumbs, milk, mayonnaise, eggs, yellow onions, and seasonings. Occasionally other ingredients such as red or green peppers are added, at which point the cake is then sautéed, baked, or grilled and then served. Crab cakes are traditionally associated with the area surrounding the Chesapeake Bay, in particular the state of Maryland and the city of Baltimore. This is one of the best Crab Cake recipes I have tasted.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lump crabmeat
- 1/3 cup saltine crakers crushed finely
- 3 green onions finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green peppers finely chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon worstershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 lemon juiced
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt fluor or panko for dusting
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil fovorite dipping sauce
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients escepy the fluor or panko and the oil. Shape into patties, and either dust with fluor or dredge in panko. Keep it in the fridge overnight. In a pan heat the oilto medium high, and carfully fry the cakes for 4 minutes and flip and cook the other side for 4 minutes. Serve with a favorite dipping sauce.
