Summary: high in protein ,very healthy.
- 1 cup lentil
- ½ cup rice
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 3 cups water
- Combine the lentils and the water and cook until the lentils are half cooked. In a meanwhile fry the onions in the oil until brown. Pour the cooked oil over the lentils and add the rice, salt and cumin. Cover and simmer over low heat until the rice is cooked. Garnish with the fried onions. Serve with plain yogurt.
