Recipe: Breakfast Casserole: Comfort breakfast, easy and delicious.
Summary: It can be serve for brunch and be prepared days before.
Ingredients
- 1 pound sausage
- 10 eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 cups milk
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups cubed bread
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups cheddar cheese
- ½ cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 tomato, chopped
- ½ cup sliced green onions
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 325 degrees F. Cook the sausage until no longer pink. Combine the eggs, milk, mustard and salt. Place ½ of the bread in 13×9 baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the pepper, cheese, mushrooms, tomato and green onions. Repeat layering, using ½ of the rest of the in gradients. Pour over the egg mixture. Bake uncovered over for 55 t60 minutes, or until the eggs are set. Cover with foil if the top starts to brown too quickly. This recipe can be assembled 12 hours before baking.
